Hey everyone and welcome to my 11th bump update. As promised, I will be doing a bump update every week from here on out (30 weeks and up).

Here I am at 37 weeks pregnant:
According the Babycenter, here is what happening during my 36th /37th week of pregnancy:
Week 36:
Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds and is more than 18 1/2 inches long (about the size of a head of romaine lettuce). She’s shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.
Week 37:
Your due date is very close now, but doctors don’t consider your baby “full term” until 39 weeks. Spending the next two weeks in the womb allows your baby’s brain and lungs to fully mature. So if you’re planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason to intervene earlier.
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (about the size of a bunch of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
How am I feeling?
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
1. I’m tired. I so over this and ready to have this baby. I guess I just reached that point where its almost over and I’m just ready. You know what I mean? If you been pregnant before, then you know what I’m talking about.
2. Prodromal Labor. Monday night I went in to the L&D because I have been having contractions since 6am. I waited it out, thinking they would go away but they didn’t. Dr told me to go straight to hospital where I spent the night, to only get sent home in the morning. Apparently I was dehydrated and that was the cause of my contractions. Boo.
3. Waiting. I think this is the part where most women just get impatient. I do occasionally get Braxton Hicks followed by some pain thinking,” This is it!” But nope. Nada. Sigh. I know she will come when she is ready.
4. Swelling. The day before I hit 37 weeks, I started to swell. BIG TIME. Mostly my feet. They look like fat sausages or something. LOL. But it does give me the chance to be pampered by husband since I have to have my feet elevated. Doctor’s orders…
5. On a good note, since I was in the hospital they did a sono telling me she was already measuring over 7 lbs! The sono tech did assure me she was measuring just a fews days ahead, that if she were to come early she would be okay. That did give me some relief, but I know its best to let her cook for as long as she can.
So yeah….were just waiting….
