According the Babycenter, here is what happening during my 34th /35th week of pregnancy:
Week 34:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
Week 35:
Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that she’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (about the size of a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, she isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks should remain about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
How am I feeling?
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
1. Surprisingly I’m doing rather well. This weeks have been fairly easy and I’m gearing up to my maternity leave. I’ve been sleeping a lot, which helps with my mood. I tend to get really snappy if I don’t get a nap.
2. Nesting. I’m nesting away washing, cleaning, stocking up on items in case she decides to make an early arrival. Arrangements have been made, all of our bags (Mine, daddy’s, Ben & babies) bags are all packed and ready to go. We are all just patiently waiting…
3. Big. My stomach is huge. I’m not going to say its not cause it is. As you can imagine I get a lot of comments especially about my due date. I’m not due till the end of the month but with any pregnancy, you never know when mother nature will occur. Still, on some days I can take the looks/comments fine. Other days however, I’m ready to snap.
4. Stealing clothes. I have resorted to going through hubby’s clothes to wear. Mostly t-shirts. I have maternity shirts to wear but at home I want to relax. And since mine no longer cover the belly, I take from John’s drawers. LOL. It’s kind of funny cause John will be like,
“Hey, is that my shirt?”
Me: “Yup. Nothing fits.”
Him: Shakes his head.
Anywhoo, I’m almost done! So excited to meet our new addition!!
I think you look adorable! Big brother looks excited as well. I say if someone says something rude, just smack them and then blame the pregnancy hormones. 😉
