New York City, 2025: Everything is changed. The city that never sleeps is now a land of death and decay. A rampant virus has taken over and the survivors have become carriers, quarantined from the rest of the world.
Twist and Dodger grew up in the streets, the sewers and underground tunnels - their playground. They aren't heroes. They just like attention; and stealing meds from the rich and giving them to the poor is their golden ticket.
On their latest raid, they unknowingly steal a cure that puts them square between the ailing Emperor of Manhattan and the war hungry Governor of Brooklyn and forces them on a quest into the darkest shadows of their putrefying world.

I have not read a dystopian novel in quite a while so I was really looking forward to this novel and seeing how the world, the characters, and the storyline were put together. For me this novel did not disappoint. I flew through the chapters and this is yet another series that I will be keeping my eyes locked on for a while.

The story like mentioned was a fast read for me. There were so many twists and turns in the books that I flew through one chapter after another. I loved the idea of how New York was quarantined because the people living in the city had a virus. Surprisingly not much was said about the virus and so I am hoping that more will be revealed in the books to come.

Twist and Dodger were so perfect together. They both had their strength and weaknesses that they worked so in sync. I am surprised they weren’t actually brothers. Twist for me was the innocent one, who was willing to try new things but was nervous and he reminded me of myself and so I felt like I had more of a connection with him than Dodger. I still love Dodger. Gia is a girl full of secrets and surprises. I know for me, she surprised me more than once and I hope to see more of her character in the upcoming novels.

What I loved most about this book was that it had so much adventure and it was so easy to read. I am sad to have this book end but I know I will be waiting for the next book. I feel that a lot can happen and I am excited. Wilbert Stanton truly amazed me with this book and I recommend this book. Exceeding my expectations!

I give this book 4 bites!
