Book Talk: New Reading/Blogging Resolutions

Dec 12
2013

Hello everyone! Now, I know that it may be early to talk about New Years resolutions but I have been thinking a lot lately about what direction I want the blog to go. When I first started this blog, it was to share books and connect with others readers. I think this is part where I failed. I’m probably one of the few bloggers that have a review a day. And while that is good, I want to do more where I can show more of my personality and connect with others. With that said, I came up with new features that I plan on doing. This Week In New Adult: I started this feature late in the year and it took off. While it doesn’t get most comments, it does get a lot of page views. I figured since New Adult is a big hit right now and everyone is looking for the...

Book Talk:Books Can Make Men Cry

Book Talk:Books Can Make Men Cry

2013

Hey everyone again. I am back again to do another book related talk. I sometimes feel like I vent when I write these posts but every reader needs to vent sometimes and I feel it is always good to share your vents because there might be someone else out there who agrees with you or maybe someone has a different opinion; it is always interesting to see what other people have to say about the topic you bring up. So the topic I am bringing up this time is the idea of how men cry too when reading a book. So most people that read most of my reviews can see how books make me emotional. I see myself as an emotional person most always and I know for a fact that I always have a box of tissues ready for use when reading a book that seems will make me cry. Sometimes books...

Book Talk: Stop Comparing My Books

Book Talk: Stop Comparing My Books

2013

Hey everyone I hope everyone is having a good summer vacation..or at least what is left of it. Today on Book Talk I wanted to talk about how readers (including myself) judge compare different genre books from the same author. I can’t say that I haven’t done this because I have and so have you and so I would like to discuss on what I think about that. I will be mentioning a couple authors that I know of that write for instance both Young Adult and Adult genre books that I have compared writing styles and story lines but I will be focusing on one author that seems to have the most controversy right now… J.K. Rowling So we all the know the infamous J.K. Rowling and the wonderful world of Harry Potter that she created. Harry Potter took the world...

Book Talk: Why I moved to Word Press

Aug 8
2013

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great day. Today on Book talk, I wanted to talk about why I moved to WordPress. Now that I have been on WordPress for a little over 3 months, I have a much better feel for it and could explain myself better. Control: The main reason I moved was for more control. I wanted my blog to expand and being with blogger does not do that for me. Blogger is a great platform to get started on. It’s easy and free. With blogger you can do things but you are limited. I could name lots of ways blogger is limited: blog designs, ads, etc. Really, with WordPress I have freedom to do what I want with my blog with out restrictions. Fear: Yup, I got scared of blogger. Lately, all blogger has been doing is closing down widgets and...

Book Talk: Y U Don’t take my money?

Book Talk: Y U Don’t take my money?

Hello and thanks for joining me on this new meme.  I will host this meme to talk about anything bookish. And today is a rant about the disgusting customer service of Barnes and Noble. Last week I had a problem. You see, I don’t have the money nor the time to travel to every single book event. When I heard about the #YeahYA book tour was coming to Texas I was stoked! That meant that Harlequin Teen authors such as  Julie Kagawa, Katie Mcgarry, Amiee Carter were only going to be hours away from me. Still, since I could not go, I decided to do the next big thing and that was call the store, order the books signed and have them shipped to me. No big problem right? Wrong. This #YEAHYA book tour were being held at several B&N’s. I called 3. THREE...
