Bump Update: 8 Weeks
Hey everyone and welcome to my second bump update. As promised, I will be doing a bump update every month.
If you like to read up on my first bump update, visit here: BUMP UPDATE # 1
Here I am at 8 weeks pregnant:
According the Babycenter, here is what happening during my 8th week of pregnancy:
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby’s hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his “tail” is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can’t feel it.
How am I feeling?
1. Once I hit week six, the extreme exhaustion set in. Everyday after work all I want to do is crawl into bed and sleep. My bedtime is now 8pm and I sleep all night long. It’s real hard to get up in the morning cause I’m super tired.
2. Hot/cold. This really annoys me. During the day I’m so hot. I constantly have a fan on me at work. Yet right after dinner time (5:30-6ish) all of a sudden I’m freezing. I put on a hoody, warm ups, fluffy socks and still can not get warm enough. But by bedtime, I’m hot again. Grrr….
3. Subchorionic Hemorrhage. On Saturday morning, I had to rush ER because I thought I was miscarrying. Turns out I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. This means that the placenta detach a little causing a blood clot. Hence all the blood I saw that morning. In the ER, the doc was able to find a heart beat. He put me on bed rest for the rest of the weekend till I saw my OBGYN. On Monday, I met with my OBGYN doctor, and he too put me on bed rest. No more running (*CRIES*), no heavy lifting, etc. Just take it easy. In two weeks, if all is okay with doc, he will give me the okay to walk.
4. No morning sickness. YUP. You read right. Still no morning sickness. To me this is a BIG indicator that I’m having a boy. Why? Well on my side of the family, when women get pregnant with girls the morning sickness is bad. REAL BAD. Like morning sickness when you wake up till the minute you go to sleep. My mom had to be hospitalized several times when she was pregnant with me. When were pregnant with boys, no morning sickness. But I won’t know for sure till another few months!!
What am I craving?
Apples and meat. I know that this is a weird combo but I crave BBQ. Ribs, pork loins, chicken, sausage. Anything meat. And then afterward, I want a nice juicy granny smith apple. For the past few days, that is what I have been eating. Good thing hubby loves meat, so he doesn’t mind when I say I want BBQ for dinner. It’s a win-win situation.
These past few weeks have been a bit more draining and hard. But I have faith that everything will be okay in the end.
That’s so scary Savy! I’m so glad everything is okay though and I hope you get the green light to start walking again soon! I also hope the no morning sickness continues 😉
That would have been a scare! I’m glad you and the baby are okay.
Look at bed rest this way… you can give your hubs permission to dote on you. 🙂
