After getting kicked out of boarding school, bad boy Derek Fitzpatrick has no choice but to live with his ditzy stepmother while his military dad is deployed. Things quickly go from bad to worse when he finds out she plans to move them back to her childhood home in Illinois. Derek’s counting the days before he can be on his own, and the last thing he needs is to get involved with someone else’s family drama.

Ashtyn Parker knows one thing for certain--people you care about leave without a backward glance. A football scholarship would finally give her the chance to leave. So she pours everything into winning a state championship, until her boyfriend and star quarterback betrays them all by joining their rival team. Ashtyn needs a new game plan, but it requires trusting Derek—someone she barely knows, someone born to break the rules. Is she willing to put her heart on the line to try and win it all?

This was the first book that I have read by this author and from what other people have told me, I had to smack myself for taking so long to pick up one of her books. I always start a book by an author that I have never read before with an open mind. I am never sure if I will like the style of writing, the characters but happily I loved every second. Simone has become another contemporary author that has made it to my list.

The relationship between Derek and Ashtyn was just flawless for me. I felt like these two characters were written for each other. Their bickering and little arguments I felt made their relationship stronger rather than hurt it. I feel with their time together it showed how a true couple should be like. Complimenting each other in almost every chapter I feel like I wanted to be in their story. I am excited

I am not a big football person and I am happy to say that this book was more than that. I was a story that an amazing author intricately crafted with descriptive characters, scenes that will leave a lasting image on the reader. Simone will be an author I will surely never hesitate to pick up her next book. I recommend this book to all readers.

I give this book 4 bites!

I have this for review and can’t wait to get to it. I haven’t read any of this authors books either, so it will be my first too. I am also a big football fan so I love reading books that have football in them. Great review!
