Everyone loves Sophia, and she is often called the advice girl by people who know her. Kira believes she knows her friend better than anyone. But in a mysterious accident, Sophia loses her life.
Kira is mourning the devastating loss when she finds a note addressed to her from beyond the grave. Kira realizes she doesn’t know her friend as well as she thought, as she starts to uncover the truth. She falls into a deep depression, confused and lost, until a visit from a strange man puts her in the middle of a war between two secret societies.
Kira soon understands that she is in danger, and doesn’t know who to trust. She has to fight for her own life now.”
For some reason, while reading this book, I fell into storyline cause it was easy to get into, but felt like something was missing. One thing I did enjoy was the friendship between Sophia and Kira. There friendship is rare and coveted. I liked how these two knew everything about each other, well at least everything. Even when things got rough, Sophia still mange to maintain a good relationship with Kira.
Now, for me this is were things get dicey. I did like the storyline, but I wanted more information. The secret society of The Guild as well as the VS, had me a little confused. I wish that there was more back round or history to it. Most of the time you were kept at bay, so it left you feeling like you were missing something.
The love interest was good, but again, I really dislike when characters meet and BAM! In love. So not working for me. They did have some back round, but I wished I could have read more into it. Like secret meetings, letters, just something.
The book overall is easy to get into because the storyline does keep you entertain. The author keeps great mysteries as well as secrets. Some where told while others were not. The unfolding of the story does keep you on your toes as well as out of the loop. Your not sure whats happening next, so you keep on reading. Great story with great characters!
I give it 3 BITES!
Happy Reading!
I think insta love rarely works. There needs to be tension and a big build up. Sounds like it had potential but didn’t meet it. Great honest review Savy 🙂
The premise sounds good, but insta-love – nooooo!! I am so over the insta-love!!
I definitely tire of the insta-love too Savy. That’s why when I find a book where the relationship progresses slowly I do a happy dance:) Thanks for your thoughts on this one!
Thanks for the well-balanced review – don’t think this is one I would have picked up otherwise, but yeah, but it sounds like it could be a decent lazy day read.
@Nic, Insta love, never heard it that way before. I will use that term now!
@Leanna, so over it like yesterday! LOL
@Jenny, Happy dance is good!
@Biblo, yup
Sometimes I can take the insta love, but I may not like it. I don’t know if I would want to read this one as it seems it might bug me here. Great review tho.
Thank you for sharing today this sounds like a good read!
