Bosque Mar haunts the dreams of both Adne and Logan, trying to escape for the Nether, where Calla, Shay and the other Guardians trapped him in the final battle in the War of All Against All. Will he turn Adne to the dark side? Will Logan reclaim his birthright? And will darkness take over our world?
I was so happy to hear the Nightshade series was returning but I was also a little curious to see where Ms. Cremer would take the reader, and what twists and turns will fill these pages. Let us just say she came back swinging and this book is a must read before the New Year.
The book leaves off a little after where the third installment ended and the main character in this book we can say is Adne, and the nightmares that haunt her are about to become reality. A new war is on the horizon and it looks like it might start with someone who we all thought was gone forever.
I loved the pacing of the book and I felt that every time I could take a little break something else would pop up. This book had the right amount of action, betrayal, secrets unfolding to make this book a perfect read.
We are connected with the characters from the other books, and when we thought everything was going swell, things go for a bad turn when Bosque Mar shows up, Ren, a dead spirit, and of course Logan Bane and his merciless plans. I have to feel bad for Ren because he in a tight position of being controlled. I want to see what part he plays more in the next installment because I am sure Andrea Cremer has plans for him.
The love Connor and Adne have is something I would say is complicated. Adne wants to protect Connor by pushing him away and Connor is unfortunately obeying her wishes but thank goodness for older brothers to knock some sense into the lover boy.
Snakeroot is a spell-binding novel that will take the reader back into the series they fell in love with. Andrea Creamer is an author all readers must keep an eye out for and if you have not had the chance to read this book or her previous series, Christmas is close and I advise you to have these books as your present.
I give it 5 bites!
I still have to read this. I loved her Nightshade series and have been meaning to read this spinoff series. I haven’t had time yet. Great review!
