June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request—June and Day must assassinate the new Elector. It’s their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long. But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood—what if the Patriots are wrong? In this highly-anticipated sequel, Lu delivers a breathtaking thriller with high stakes and cinematic action.

After leaving me an emotional wreck in the first book, I was highly anticipating for this book to leave me the same way. Although it wasn’t at the same extent as the first book, I was still left sitting in silence, shock spread across my face as I turned the last page to finish the book.

The plot line and the action are what grabbed me once again in this series. I was most of the time on my toes wondering what was going to happen next, and would June and Day survive. Goosebumps were constantly appearing on my arm. This book captured my soul from the very first page and had me hooked till the ending.

I was able to fall in love with the characters once again as Day and June made their escape from their likely death. I am so happy for them that they are meant for each other. However, when being reconnected with Day’s best friend, will his friendship that they have become more than being just friends.

Ms. Lu is able to ensnare your mind with this thrilling sequel and have your mind captured the adventure plays out. Filled with action, adventure, love, sadness, and an ending that will leave you shocked but wanting more, Prodigy is the most awaiting sequel of the year and I recommend to all readers to immediately read this book.

I give it 5 bites!
