“She’s writing about him. he’s writing about her. And everybody is reading between the lines..
For Erin Blackwell, majoring in creative writing at the New York City college of her dreams is more than a chance to fulfill her ambitions–it’s her ticket away from the tragic memories that shadow her family’s racehorse farm in Kentucky. But when she refuses to major in business and take over the farm herself someday, her grandmother gives Erin’s college tuition and promised inheritance to their maddeningly handsome stable boy, Hunter Allen. Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter . . . so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment?
Then, on the day she’s sharing that assignment with her class, Hunter walks in. He’s joining her class. And after he reads about himself in her story, her private fantasies about him must be painfully clear. She only hopes to persuade him not to reveal her secret to everyone else. But Hunter devises his own creative revenge, writing sexy stories that drive the whole class wild with curiosity and fill Erin’s heart with longing. Now she’s not just imagining what might have been. She’s writing a whole new ending for her romance with Hunter . . . except this story could come true.”
I was super excited to get this book. I am in Love with Ms. Echol’s writing. She always finds a way to grab my heart and thrust me into a good story. As I began reading this book, what got me hooked is the unique plot line of it. As the reader, we are thrown into this world like no other. Filled with farms, horses, and a stable boy that caught my heart.
The story line of this book is right on. I really like how we see things fall in place as the reader continues to read the book. I felt the emotions falling off the pages. My husband kept saying,” Honey, why are you making those faces?” Well obviously I was so into the book, I hadn’t realize I was making a face. LOL! The main characters Erin and Hunter have a family history that not only goes was back but it also frowned upon. I really like the history between this two. Watching it unfold was like watching a addicting Spanish novella. So much is going on, that you are gasping, omging, and what!?
I also laughed a lot. Erin has such a great strength to her that was sometimes sarcastic that it made me snicker. You go glenn coco! I loved her snappy attitude and smart remarks. I just loved how she was setting out to do things differently than what she was taught. I loved how she is her own person and did not let anyone tell her otherwise.
The love interest in this book is sweet, enduring, and very unique. I must say that I am surprised by several revelations in the book regarding Erin and Hunter. They went through so much through their lives when they are small and to do so again just made my heart break. I must be a masochistic person because I loved to see them fight. I loved it when they got into each other faces. It wasn’t that they really hated each other, it was that they really loved each other.
This book is a great read for a rainy day. I loved sitting next to my window reading this book feeling the feel of the country and their love. I can say that this book definitely made a dent in my heart and made me love Ms. Echol’s writing even more!
I give it 4 BITES!
Happy Reading!
Having grown up around horses and stables, I kind of have a thing for stable boys which make me want to read this one all the more:) I need a good rainy day read!
I reviewed this one today too 🙂 Loved that the characters were a bit older. The ranch/racing aspect was fab too 🙂
I can’t believe I haven’t read anything by Jennifer Echols yet! Funny about your hubs asking you why you were making faces. You must have been really lost in the ‘love’ story! 😉
I have heard such good things about her writing. I need to get on that and read this one!! I will talk to a book or laugh out loud, so I’m sure faces are a part of when I read a good book too! LOL Great review!!
This sounds good! I got it from Galley Grab too, but I think it’s going to expire before I get to it, so I’ll have to pick up a copy instead. 🙂
Great review! This book sounds so cute! I’m also a big Jennifer Echols fan so I can’t wait to read this!
