"Awake a year-long coma, where he literally spent in hell, Caden Butcher, 17, developed a special power. He can speak to demons in their own language. This new trick helps him take over the family exorcism business, from his broken alcoholic father. Having to take care of the finances, Caden makes a decent income getting rid of demons. He’s known as the young whiz-kid exorcist to the stars, obtaining most of his work in Hollywood. But what others don't know is the exorcisms are all staged with the help of his best buddy, a demon he met in hell named Dantalion (Dan).
When an exorcism goes wrong, Caden discovers the demon inside a teen girl is not the run of the mill malicious entity but an adversary from down under who is hell bent on Caden’s destruction. The International Order of Exorcists, an organization that tolerates Caden at best because of his respected father, starts their own investigation because of his screw up.
Now with the help of his demon buddy, and Caden’s girlfriend Aspen Spencer, a skilled necromancer, Caden must track down the rogue demon before he can expose Caden as a fraud and destroy everything that matters to him in his life, ending his reign as the one and only Demon Whisperer."
I really like this book. Many different elements of this book kept me reading it. I loved that the characters is flawed. He is no perfect but always makes mistakes. I like how even how his past comes back to haunt him in a way I never saw coming.
Ms. Stokes presents the reader with an amazing and fast paced beginning that keeps the readers eyes attached the book and never wavering. I like how immediately I was able to fall into the characters shoes and feel his every emotions. I love it when authors can help the reader feel and be the characters. The main character, Caden has been through a lot. He is way more mature than most kids. After returning from being a year in hell, he is not the same. The premise alone is not what most books I read so it kept me very intrigued.
The plot of the book has good pacing. Never once did I waver from it or feel confused. I like that the reader sees Caden in so many ways. We see him vulnerable yet strong. Happy yet sad. Ms. Stokes gave me story with a great plot that I loved right away.
This is a completely different out of the box read for me but I still loved it. I was a little reluctant, but came to enjoy the book. Demon Whisperer is a dark fast paced read that will make your hair rise.

I give it 4 BITES!
Happy Reading!
This does sound interesting. I always like it when characters are flawed – when that’s written well. The excorcism part sounds creepy.
The cover reminds me of Anathema (which I’ve not read :D)
This sounds seriously fun, but exorcisum, I’m with Alison: sounds creepy! Thanks for the review!
I love when a book keeps me glued to the pages the entire time and I have trouble even tearing myself away for so much as a bathroom break. You always review books I haven’t heard too much about but that sound amazing, thanks Savy!
Oh I like the sounds of this one! Seems to have great characters and a unique premise. Awesome review, Savannah!
