London 1873 shape-shifter Tessa Gray 16 is engaged to Jem Carstairs 17, dying of addiction to demon drug, all bought up by evil Mortmain. The "clockwork prince" controls an army of automatons to abduct Tess, kill the Shadowhunters, and blackmail Charlotte Branwell, head of London Institute. Will and Tessa hide their love, for love of Jem.

I think this will be one of my few shorts reviews. Because I could say more but I think less is better.

Plot: The plot pretty much follows as the other books have. There is lots of action and fighting with the shadow hunters. They made grave designs that affect their future. But in the end, the reader in suck in straight into the book and you can not get out.

Friendship/Love: This area is explore a whole lot more and boy do I love it. I can not even begin to tell you how much I loved these parts. You get the see the character for who they really are with out the fighting and drama. Their hearts are so genuine in what they want to do for each other and man, that is true friendship.

Ending: Let me take a deep breathe to gather my emotions here. There is only one other book where I can think of the ending and I swear my heart beats fast and I’m filed with love. You can add this book to that list. The last chapter at the end captured me so emotionally that I giggled my excited in the first page, fell in love and smiled, then cried. I have not read such an amazing ending that leaves me speechless. This one did. I think I read the chapter about 4 to 5 times to only relive what I just read. Pure awesomeness.

Give this book a try. Heck, just stop what you are doing and read the entire series. It’s so awesome, you won’t forget. Trust me. Clockwork Princess is a truly gorgeously written story that you need to read. It surpasses all my expectations and leaves my heart filled with emotions. This is why I read people. To find gems like this one. Go read it. GO!

I give it 5 BITES!

5bites

Happy Reading!

P.S. I know I said this review will be short but I guess I had more to say. LOL.

Hi,Thanks for sharing this book reivew! I’m a school librarian and had this on my list of books to read. We just picked a copy of this up at our last book fair, but I wasn’t sure if it was something that the students would like. Sounds like I should read it so that I can recommend it and talk with the students about it.

Love your review!! I listened to this on audio and I was glad for that. I don’t know how many times I cried and would have had to put the book down. Actually I had to listen to the audio in short bursts too. I was so gripped by emotion that I literally had to take breaks. After reading your review I want to go back and listen to it all over again. 🙂

I loved this book but hated the epilogue. I felt like it was a cop out and that she wanted all her readers to be happy and not get upset with her. It just didn’t feel true to the series. So I just pretend it doesn’t exist! LOL! Great review!

I can’t believe you were able to avoid spoilers all this time! I did like the ending overall but there was one part before that (can’t say without spoilers) that bothered me a bit.
All in all I’m a huge fan of this trilogy. Great setting, great characters, and I love the Will-Jem friendship SO much.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics

I did the same thing, Savy–I reread the ending a few times and cried SO hard. Now I can’t read it again for a very long time because my heart just can’t take it. Omg, this book.
