For elite extraterrestrial pilot EBN-Reyoz-X, awaiting rescue while hiding out in a trailer park is a grueling nightmare. She’s injured, lacks proper supplies and can’t blend in with the indigenous population because she’s seven feet tall and can’t control the trail of wildflowers blooming in the wake of her footsteps. She’s unprepared to begin sexual maturity in the alien land and when she develops feelings for Shale, the mute teenage boy next door, she’s convinced circumstances can get no worse.Except rescue never comes and once word spreads that her touch holds miraculous healing abilities, EBN must find a way to fix her ship, evade capture by the United States Air Force and survive long enough to return home."
What I also liked about this book was the storyline. I like how the reader got to see things from her home planets point of view. The reader got to see the politics of it. But the reader also saw EBN point of view in her struggle to survive on earth. Another cool thing are the names. I love unique names and Ms. Mousner picked names that most definitley fits her characters.
I loved the love interest. It held a very unique aspect of it. A mute boy and an alien? Super cool. I like how well both characters, EBN and Shale had a such a pure love. They stood up for each other. I like that Shale takes comfort in EBN and becomes a better person. Shale made me so surprised at the things he did! Go Shale! The sombrero part really cracked me up!
My only gripe was the point of view switches. I felt like the switches weren’t done as smoothly. I was confused cause I was reading from one pov then went straight to another.
This is a great sci-fi book! I love the feeling of the story and the pacing of the story was good too. I really like how this one being really made a significant change in so many peoples lives. Its good to read such a great book with lots of out of the book ideas. *There was a few curse words*
I give it 4 BITES!
Happy Reading!
I am not a huge sci-fi fan but this sounds interesting and unique. Another great review Savy 🙂
Savy, I swear, I have no idea how you find the time to read as much as you do! You review so many new and interesting books and I’m envious of your ability to read so much. My blog pales in comparison and so I bow to you:)
The POV switches, because it isn’t done smoothly, does give me pause. I’m not sure I’d like this one. However the characters do sound interesting. I am curious about the Sombrero part. 😉
POV switches can be choppy if not done correctly. Or when they are not balanced. I like sci-fi though, and I like reading indie authors because you never know when you’re going to find a hidden gem! Nice review!
This one sounds really good, although I’m not a fan of POV switches…I might still check it out, though. Nice review!
For me, the best POV switches are from chapter to chapter, but not in the middle of the narrative.
I don’t really read sci-fi, but this one sounds interesting. I love the cover.
