Dysfunctional like her parents' marriage; her doll-crazy twelve-year-old sister, Kasey; and even her own anti-social, anti-cheerleader attitude. When a family fight results in some tearful sisterly bonding, Alexis realizes that her life is creeping from dysfunction into danger. Kasey is acting stranger than ever: her blue eyes go green sometimes; she uses old-fashioned language; and she even loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her strange behavior. Their old house is changing, too. Doors open and close by themselves; water boils on the unlit stove; and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough to see their breath in.Alexis wants to think that it's all in her head, but soon, what she liked to think of as silly parlor tricks are becoming life-threatening--to her, her family, and to her budding relationship with the class president. Alexis knows she's the only person who can stop Kasey -- but what if that green-eyed girl isn't even Kasey anymore?"
This book was how can I say……CREEPY! But a good creepy. Like almost like Steven King creepy but for kids.
Alexis notices weird things going on with her sister Kasey. All of the sudden Kasey is losing time. Alexia claims she saw her somewhere and Kasey doesn’t remember. Then Alexis starts to see what is really inside of Kasey. A evil little girl bent out for revenge.
Now this book I would LOVE to see in a movie. The whole story in general was great. It did start off slow, but boy did it pick up. After that, you were sucked into everything. Some parts even gave me goosebumps. This is one book that I would not read at night. I love paranormal and all, but messing with the whole possession stuff is umm.. something I would not read before I go to bed. I was glad that I read this during broad daylight, with my husband right next to me. At times I was even glancing up to make sure he hadn’t left.
(SPOLIER)
Plus, I don’t like dolls.
If you want a good thrill, read this book! It is a great written story with great detail. Even the romance touch to it was just right. Nothing was too much and the way if all fit in, in the end was superb!
I give it 5 BITES!
Happy Reading!
Great review! I’m so glad it was good. I really want to read it!
Just don’t read it at night. Well the first half of the book yes, but after that, beware! LOL
Thanks for the great review! I’ve heard a bunch of good things about the book so I’ll probably get it from my library this week. 😀
Ohhh…I love creepy books! Great review. 🙂
Savannah, being called “Stephen King creepy for kids” is like a dream of mine! Thanks for the great review. 🙂
This sounds like such an engaging read! I’m a huge fan of horror and the macabre (totally not obvious judging by my personality, but I love it!) so I’ll probably love this one, too. Thanks for the review!
this one sounds super creepy!! even the cover!!
I haven’t heard of this one! I like a little creepy every now and then, so I think I’ll be picking this one up:) And the cover looks innocent, but kinda freaks me out!
