"Following the brutal deaths of her sister and aunt, Rosa Alcantara has become what she never thought possible: the very rich and very powerful head of the Alcantara clan. Saddled with this immense responsibility, Rosa must now conduct all business matters--legitimate and not--while negotiating among the greedy, bloodthirsty members of her own family. Not to mention convincing everyone that her blossoming relationship with enemy Alessandro Carnevare won't put the family business in danger.
But loving Alessandro comes at a price. As Rosa continues to fall for him, she discovers the dark secrets of his family's dealings and how they intersect with her own painful past. She wants to believe she can trust Alessandro, but they're so different: Alcantara and Carnevare, snake and panther. How can she love someone whose family wants her dead?
When Rosa and Alessandro uncover an ancient conspiracy intent on destroying both clans, they will do anything to stop it. Racing to put the pieces together, evading their relatives' murderous feud, and learning what it means to control the most influential families in all of Sicily--the two teens must risk everything to love each other and survive."
So many new twists!! I simply loved this story.
What I enjoyed more about this book is the complicated plot. When I say complicated I mean, you need to be paying attention cause of all the revelations that are spilled. Rosa is stronger than ever, asking questions, kicking butt, and taking names later. She has grown much since the last book, finally fulfilling her destiny. Each chapter Rosa learns more and more about her family history and what is really going on. The fact that it is more corrupt than a freaking novella had me at the edge of my seat.
The love interest didn’t sway from where I want it to be instead, it gave me some peace. Let me tell you that this book is filled with plenty of gasps and what!!! The small amount of peace that Rosa gets from Alessandro balances out the angry and hate. He brings peace to her like she has had it before. I admit that there are several place where the author lead me to believe that I might loose hope in Alessandro. For he is holding some secrets as well, and I’m scared to know what it is. Rosa is in such a fragile state that one mistake can fuel her hatred ever more.
Arcadia Burns is a great sequel that leaves me burning for more. It captures my mind with the great world building and history of the Arkadien’s. There is much more to learn, I know it. There’s no denying the intricate writing style with awesome characters. Arcadia Burns is sweet!
I give it 4 B ITES!
Happy Reading!

I haven’t read this series and never really paid much attention to it. It sounds like I should look up the first one and see what the reviews are. Maybe this a series I should really be giving a try!
I’ve been curious about this series since i saw the awesome covers for them. Sounds like the sequel was great, too! Awesome review!
I’m curious to see what I’ll think of this one Savy. I had a few issues with book one, but the world was definitely interesting enough to make me want to continue. Plus, I love a book with twists so that has me excited:)
