Jesus Daily: 12 Days Of Christmas & Giveaway!
Hello everyone! Throughout the year, I make it a point to read scripture daily. For me, its just a part of life that I need. The thing is, life is not perfect. Things can change in an instant. For me, reading daily helps me stay focused and have hope for a new and better day.
Today’s devotional:
But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you
have found favor with God. You will be with child and give
birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.”
Luke 1:30–31
In His Plan
Mary was a young teenage girl going about her daily routine
when an angel appeared to her and said, “Do not be afraid.”
Of course she was surprised and fearful, and maybe these words put
her at ease. But the next part? “You will conceive and give birth to
a son . . .”
That “favor” she received from God must have been powerful from
the beginning. God gave her what she needed to stand in the pres-
ence of an angel and receive a message that would not only change
her whole life, but change history. He revealed to her the unique
role that she would play in God’s purposes. And she embraced that
role, even though it would come with a great personal cost.
As we go through the routines of our day, we assume that God fits
into our story. Christmas is a reminder that our story, including all
of the difficult parts, is never really understood until it’s seen in the
light of the larger story that is God’s. His gift to us is that favor that
includes us in his plan.
I understand that this is not for everyone, but those who are looking for hope, for something more, a devotional is a great way to start. I have been contacted by the lovely people at Hachette to offer a copy of Jesus Daily Devotional.
