Hello and Welcome Ms. Tucker, author of Anathema! Thank you so much Ms. Tucker for being here today and answering my questions. 1. What inspired you to write? For anyone following the tour day-by-day, say it with me now: “For sanity!” J I was on maternity leave with my second daughter and I was finding it extra-tough in the face of an adorable but screeching 3mth-old, a 2 year old special needs child, diapers & bottles up to my eyeballs, and two dogs doing laps around my ankles all day long. I needed an escape and some way to stimulate my brain. Writing fiction seemed like the perfect option. I had no idea at the time how much I would love it.  2. Why vampires? I guess I’ve always had a fascination with vampires. When I was young, they scared me to death....

I like to welcome Ms. Shelley Workinger author of Solid and Settling!         Several readers have described the “Solid” series as an “X-men for girls,” focusing more on the relationships than the superpowers. I haven’t seen the film, so I can’t make a fair comparison, but I do agree that the characters have always been the heart of the story. The second-most statement I hear is, “I’m so happy this wasn’t another Hey, I have superpowers;  now I’ll go save the world!book,” which kind of piggy-backs onto the first comment and opens the discussion of how the super-abilities came to be.  When I first set out to write the series, I wanted readers to be able to put themselves into the story; I meant what I said on the cover of “Solid” when I asked, What if you...

The Hawaiian Islands. Known worldwide for their arts and culture. I fell in love with the islands during my first trip in 2004. I visited the islands of Oahu and Kauai during that trip and have returned over the years to some of the other islands, but I have to say, Kauai is my absolute favorite of all the islands. I have a long list of reasons, but for now I will focus on the one at the top: Waimea Canyon. We all know about Arizona’s Grand Canyon, well Waimea Canyon is the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It’s approximately 14 miles and 3,600 feet deep and an incredibly beautiful place.   Waimea Canyon is the place where I thought up the idea of Mishap & Mayhem; you can say it’s the place where I first met my characters. It’s a place...

Hello Everyone! I have a wonderful author here today, talking about her writing. You may have heard of her. Her name is Kristie Cook and she is the author of the Promise and Purpose, the Soul Saver series. Ms. Cook is here to talk about how she came into writing and how she got the idea for writing her books. So without further adu, Ms. Kristie Cook! “This whole crazy trip of becoming a published author started with a simple school assignment when I was eight years old. We had to write a short story and I wrote about gnomes helping a lost brother and sister find their way out of a cave. It was my first contemporary fantasy and I fell in love with story-telling and writing, especially after being the only student to receive an A on the assignment. Not only...

Hello and today I want to welcome author C. Fern Cook, author of the Wild Series. And the floor is all yours….? How the wild series evolved   “The Wild series began when I was a patrol deputy in the Colorado Mountains. I worked in a county that was cattle country. As charming as that seems, many of the ranchers killed anything that crossed their property they didn’t like. This did not sit well with me, the great animal lover that I am, I believe all animals have right to live on this planet. As a patrol deputy, I could do nothing about it unless it was an endangered species or poaching involved. I have always been the storyteller, I imagined a rancher that shared his land with all creatures including the dreaded wolf. This turned into a skin...

Classic’s. The Odyssey. The Red Badge Of Courage, etc. I could go on and on. We have all been forced to read them. We have all sat at a desk for countless hours trying to write an essay over something we barley understand. And we all cheated! We used sparknotes, help for friends, or parents who know this story better then we do. We are even forced to watch the classics in super boring old school movies. If one I learn in high school, is to appreicate literature. Even though half the time, I had no idea what was so good about  it and plus, I had other bigger fish to fry. Boyfriends, friends, drama, etc….. So enter Wayne Josephson. A great writter who has perfected a way to re-write classic literature to help us readers better understand them. Hello...
