Book Talk:Books Can Make Men Cry
Hey everyone again. I am back again to do another book related talk. I sometimes feel like I vent when I write these posts but every reader needs to vent sometimes and I feel it is always good to share your vents because there might be someone else out there who agrees with you or maybe someone has a different opinion; it is always interesting to see what other people have to say about the topic you bring up. So the topic I am bringing up this time is the idea of how men cry too when reading a book.
So most people that read most of my reviews can see how books make me emotional. I see myself as an emotional person most always and I know for a fact that I always have a box of tissues ready for use when reading a book that seems will make me cry. Sometimes books will surprise me and the tears will sneak past and slide down my face.
Most of the books that guys are thought to be reading are those of action, fantasy and the books with romance and emotion are books that are usually passed. Although that is not the case for me. I have to admit that that used to be the situation for me when I was younger but now that I have entered this amazing world where I have the opportunity to review books, I have the chance to explore different books that always bring something to the plate.
So for those book people that say they have never met a man cry before when reading a book well there is always a first time for everything. I feel that guys do have a right to cry and I feel also that guys are in the closet about crying (no pun intended).
So make sure that you show some sympathy for guys that shed tears after reading a book because I feel those are the guys that girls would like to get to know because they could possibly relate to what girls are feeling (just saying).
So I am done with my little rant and let me know what you think about men crying after finishing a book.

I love it when a book makes me cry. Those are the best kind. I read Eleanor & Park on Friday and cried at least three times.

Chayse that’s one thing I like about your reviews, you don’t just read ‘guy’ books and you share your emotion, how they made you feel. Not many guys are comfortable to do so- so that’s awesome that you are! I wish more guys would be more open minded about reading more genres, but also that they felt more comfortable with feeling emotions.
Candace I am first glad that you like my reviews but I am going to be truthful when I say when I was little I would have never picked up a book like The Summer I Turned Pretty or The Selection because I considered those books too girly. But now I am reading anything and sometimes I just want to get all emotional and tear up after a book
Chayse, I really enjoy reading your reviews. I think it’s great that books get an emotional response out of you. I also think it’s wonderful that you don’t just read the typical “guy” books. I love reading a male opinion on books that I am interested in reading also! Great post. It is good to vent sometimes. 🙂
In my book, it really doesn’t matter what your gender is. If the book is so good it makes you feel something (other than the occasional eye pain due to reading under terrible light) then go ahead and feel it and express it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started laughing like a crazy person in the subway train because I was reading a funny scene. And I did get the evil eye from the other passengers. And let’s face it, a man crying after reading a book will understand completely when I tell him how angry/happy/sad/frustrated I am because of a book/scene I read. He’ll get it and he won’t look at me like I’ve lost my mind.
