Blog Tour: Touch
“When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.

I’m not sure…I was really little though. I wasn’t one of those kids that
go through adolescence wanting to be a zillion things when I grew up. It
was always going to be food or fiction. A few years ago, it was leaning
toward food. I’d applied and was accepted at the Culinary Institute of
America, but last minute I passed on the spot to pursue writing. I know I
made the right choice.
2. How long did it take you to write Touch?
The short answer? About two months total. I couldn’t eat, sleep, or move
from my chair till it was done. Dez was persistent and wouldn’t shut up!
(very typical of her BTW…) I wrote the first words on June 1st and had
the first draft done in three weeks. I revised into the first or second
week of July, and started querying right after. I tweaked and changed
things due to agent and editor feedback throughout the year though.
3. Did you listen to any music while writing Touch? If so, what’s on the
playlist?
Music is a really important part of my process. There was music for every
character and every scene. Some of the bands on TOUCH’s playlist are:
Powerman 5000, Pink, Black Lab, and Rob Zombie, to name a few. There’s a
list on my website–but it’s incomplete at the moment. I’ll add the rest
soon. Really! I mean it. In fact, I’ll go do it now… After I hunt down a
cupcake 😀
4. What are you currently working on right now?
Right now I’m working on TOXIC, the second book in the Denazen series.
After that I’ll be wrapping up a Denazen novella to come between books 1
and 2. It should be a blast–it’s in Kale’s POV!
5. What books are you looking forward to reading this fall?
I can’t wait to read Reckoning (the next Strange Angels novel) by Lili St.
Crow and I’m also itching to dive into If I Die (Soul Screamers) by Rachel
Vincent.
Jus Accardo is the author of YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction. A native New Yorker, she lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband, three dogs, and sometimes guard bear, Oswald. Her first book, Touch, is due out in November 2011 from Entangled Publishing.
I’m intrigued by this novel. Really intrigued.
Whoa, in 2 months? That’s absolutely brilliant. Majorly impressive. I wish. *lol*
I can’t wait to read this! I’ve been hearing such great things about it.

I just wanted to pop in and say thinks to Savannah for letting me hang today. 🙂
I’ll be in and out if anyone wants to chat or ask questions 🙂 (since I’m stuck here waiting for this freakish snow storm to strike!)
Oh wow only 2 months that’s awesome. I loved Touch! 😀
