Blog Tour: Character Casting: Holly/ ARC of Tempest Givewaway
“The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun. That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.
Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.”
“Holly was waiting at the door for me, wearing denim skirt and blue top. Her hair hung down and the ends were curled.”
“A loose strand of blonde hair fell over her eyes and I watched it, willing myself not to reach out and tuck it behind her ear.”
In Tempest, Holly is a very strong and loyal gal. She loves to help people, and she wears her heart on her sleeve. As I read Tempest, I adored how complete Holly made Jackson. With her, he felt loved and himself.
“Fine Jana, I want guy who has read beyond the first few words of a Charles Dickens novel and can quote beautiful lines of prose while ballroom dancing to…”
“You could just… kiss me now and get it over with?”
I have chosen the actress Sofia Vassileva. She started acting at a young age landing roles in the hit TV drama Medium and landed the lead role in My Sister’s Keeper.
“But doing the right thing is hard sometimes. The more practice you have, the easier is gets. Even if it’s only in a dream.”
“My young adult novel, TEMPEST has been sold to editor Brendan Deneen with Thomas Dunne in a 3 book deal. TEMPEST is the first in a trilogy about a 19-year-old time traveler who witnesses his girlfriend’s murder and inadvertently jumps back two years; stuck there, he’s recruited by a shadowy government agency run by the man he thought was his father and vows to save his girlfriend no matter the cost.”

I like your pick of Sofia for Holly! The Secret Circle cast was a letdown, I thought, so I’m not sure about that girl for Holly, although her looks match, so both good picks really! 🙂
Since I haven’t read the book, I don’t really know what Holly should look like. I do like Brittany Robertson though.
Man, I love this blog tour! How fun is this! I love your pick and I haven’t seen the Secret Circle but I first noticed Brittney Robertson from the short-lived WB show, LIFE UNEXPECTED. I watched a few episodes and thought…wow, she could be Holly. Although, I do have several choices…so hard to pick one person to be your character 🙂
Can’t wait to hear other people’s choices!
She’s a cute girl!!! I’m so excited to read this one, and now I have a face to match with Holly:) Thanks so much for the giveaway too! *fingers crossed*
Both Holly and Sofia look like great choices. I think Holly is a little prettier…or maybe she just looks sweeter in the photos that were put up.
Oh nice pick, Savy! I like both choices. It’s so hard to choose. It’ll be great to see who Summit chooses!
This looks like such a good book:) Ienjoyed reading the post
I think I would pick Brittany Robertson!
I think Emma Roberts would be a great pick for Holly. Although I would have said Brittany Robertson if you hadn’t already picked her!
These are always the hardest, trying to pick someone to play a character from a book is so hard. Those were great choices though.
Those were great. I love the books better than a movie adaptation.
AWh she’s super cute! This is a fun post!

I think Miley Cyrus might be good.
This was an amazing read! I cannot wait for the others to be released. Loved the interview. I don’t know who I’d like to play Holly though.
-Shellie
I wouldn’t mind seeing Brittany Robinson to play in the Tempest movie, just because I think she is awesome!
I love, love, love time travel. Be it the Time Travelers Wife,
the best book ever, or the Man Who Folded Himself, the first time
traveler book I recall reading, I love them all. Can not wait to read this one!
Zooey Deschanel would be great as Holly.
I am super excited to dive into this book
That’s hard to choose. I say Abigail Breslin 🙂
I loved reading Tempest and posted a view back in Oct., but would LOVE a signed copy sooooo very much! I read an older ARC version off of Netgalley and so only had it for a short amount of time. *keeps fingers crossed*
Happy New Year!

Great post! I’m not sure who I’d pick because I haven’t read it yet! Hopefully I’ll change that soon! 😀
I usually don’t pick who plays who, because I never know! But I think both of you did a great job. I can see both of them playing Holly. 🙂
I love Brittany Robertson, so cute! 🙂
