I wanted to share with you all my ttc (trying to conceieve) journey for those who are interested. Some parts may be a bit TMI, so I apologize in advance.

My ttc journey started last August of 2013. I had reached my highest weight of 252 pounds and I wanted another baby. I had been hinting at my husband for another one but he would not budge. One day he sat down with me to have a serious conversation about what steps we wanted to take next. My husband is a kind and honest man. During our conversation he mention my weight. At first, I was upset and hurt. But he was right. I knew there was no way that I could get pregnant at 252 pounds. My body was unhealthy as well as my periods were few/scarce. I had a C-section and Gestational Diabetes with my first child. There was no way I could get pregnant again without it being a high risk pregnancy. So I set mind to loose weight. And I did. 70 pounds to be exact!!

After loosing weight we decided to finally start trying. It took me 2 cycles to get pregnant. Since I had lost a lot of weight I thought I would get pregnant right away. My body bounce back, I was running, eating healthy, periods were on time yet the first month, NEGATIVE. I didn’t understand. The fear set in me that I was older or maybe all those years of eating horribly had finally taken its toll. I cried that night the test came back negative. I contacted my OBGYN and all he said was keep trying. We did. The second cycle I went out and bought the Clear Blue Digital Ovulation Test. It helps track your ovulation time to ensure that you can get pregnant. I did the test twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. For days I got the dreaded empty circle (which means I’m not ovulating) so I kept on testing. Finally I got a smiley face (which means I’m about to ovulate). So hubby and I got down to business.

And I prayed…a lot. I really wanted to be a mom again. I had hope that this time it will happen. One week before my period is due I began taking pregnancy test. On Friday night I took a dollar tree test and a very faint line showed up. Hubby looks at it and said,”I don’t know. Take another one in the morning.” The next morning I took another one this time the line just a tad bit darker! HOLY MOLY there was a LINE! I showed hubby again but he was still unconvinced. He said,” I see it but it is still too faint. Take another one in the morning.” I did take another one in the morning, same result. This time I decided to take one in the evening. I did and TADA! It said pregnant! I sent the pic to hubby and he was so elated that he almost cried.

There you have it. I’m extremely excited and blessed to be on this journey again.

For those who follow my blog and read up on it, would ya’ll  mind if I post Bump updates? I’ll most likely do it once a month. I promise to keep my blog mostly books but I would love to share my journey with you all.

CONGRATS! I’m currently 36 weeks with my 3rd and i’m heavy and it’s hard. I have gestational diabetes again and ugh. It’s nothing but doctor’s appointments, 4 a week. I admire your will to lose weight to have another one.

    Congrats again! =)
