Ransom Riggs is an author to be reckon with. Blowing my mind and world in his first book I could not wait to see what he had in store for all the characters I came to love, the world I became a part of, and how this brought me closer to the peculiar book.

The book starts off right where it left off and we are immediately plunged into an adventure with action and that uneasy feeling of what could possibly happen next. The story is a fast read and the chapters always leave you wanting more. The fullness of this book brings you in and presents you with not just words but pictures. Riggs is a master of creating a book based off of pictures he finds.

Jacob makes a big risk when he decides to leave his family behind to help these peculiar children who become his family. He finds himself making decisions teenage boys never think of and he does it without thinking. I feel that the characters bring out what a family should be. Both the good and bad. I feel that although this story has this dreary tone, there are moments of comic relief that will make the reader grin.

Overall Ransom Riggs does it once again to capture my heart with his words. I am excited to see what comes next for these characters in the final novel to come. Take a chance and read this series. I wish I could express how much I love this book more in my own words but it is just simply amazing.
