“You will kill. The only question is when.

In the dark days since the insidious Red Lung virus decimated the human population, vampires have risen to rule the crumbling cities and suburbs. Uncontested Princes hold sway over diminished ranks of humans: their “pets.” In exchange for their labor, loyalty and of course, their blood, these pets are registered, given food and shelter, permitted to survive.

Unregistered humans cling to fringes, scavenging for survival. Allison Sekemoto and her fellow Unregistereds are hunted, not only by vampires, but by rabids, the unholy result of Red Lung-infected vampires feeding on unwary humans. One night, Allie is attacked by a pack of rabids, saved by an unlikely hero…and turned vampire.

Uncomfortable in her undead skin, Allie falls in with a ragtag crew of humans seeking a cure, or cures: for Rabidism and for Vampirism. She’s passing for human…for now. But the hunger is growing and will not be denied. Not for friendship—not even for love.”

Can I just say that this author never ceases to amaze me? I loved this book! Once again, Ms. Kagawa creates a  story that everyone can fall in love with!
What I loved most about this book is the great world building. The vampires, the rules, the new life that the characters receives is all so wonderful to dive into. Once you open the book and read the first sentence you are done for.
The characters of the book are amazingly written. I really liked how the characters are so set with what they know. You see the strained of change try to come along but no matter what it doesn’t happen. As the reader, you root for for the character to get the redemption that they deserve. I know that once I was towards the end of the book I didn’t want it to end.
The love interest in the book comes on hard and fast. It’s something that I expected, but loved that it wasn’t an easy love. This love is going to go through so much! I can only hope that their love with grow stronger no matter what.
The Immortal Rules is great for an audience starved  for something more. The unrelenting emotions and action leaves the reader wanting more. It’s not your typical vampire book which I believe others will enjoy. The Immortal Rules is an dark and grimy journey of new world that has taken over. Breathtaking and beautiful, it lives up to its hype.
I give it 5 BITES!
 Happy Reading!
