"Mira Johns is pretty much like any other teenage girl. Except that she knows how to harness electro-magnetic energy to communicate without words. And she’s really, really far from home. Her assignment as an emissary to Earth sounds fairly simple: blend in, observe, and stay away from the planet’s primitive males. But after she finds one mysterious boy too irresistible for stupid rules, she realizes the real reason she’s supposed to keep her distance: mates from her world can die if separated. But a series of serious accidents make it clear that someone wants to force her return. Mira decides her only hope is to uncover the truth to why she, the most mediocre of candidates, was actually chosen for this assignment—before the agency discovers her secret and sends her back home.
Another amazing book I read this weekend is Extranormal. And this book took me for a spin!
What I loved most about this book is the characters. The reader meets Mira, who is from another planet who is sent to earth on a mission. Mira being on earth is the funniest to read. To be in her shoes new on earth, new to school, money, cars, phones, etc. Watching her learn all of these things and getting used to it is nice. I loved watching her grow and learn new knowledge. I liked that even though Mira is an alien that is not that different from humans. She is just a little more intelligent and more progressed in her mind capabilities.
I felt the love interest is great! I adored the connection and the love that bloom between them. The secret behind the connection is another stunning detail in the book. I liked there is more than what the reader sees. I can only wonder what book two holds. My only gripe about the love is that I felt that it moved to fast. I wanted more of a dating period between the two. Though they did do some, I just wanted more time for the couple to have with each other.
The plot is another great part of the book. There is a lot of conspiracies with the alien planet. Lots of politics, lots of twist and turns that the reader will not see coming. I’m anxious to see what else will develop in Mira since she is one of a kind. *wink*
Overall, Extranortmal is a fantasic book. A delicously decieveing story, Extranormal leads you to another world of wide possbilites. Smart and unpredictable, Extranormal is a fun read!
I give it 4 BITES!

Ooh I love stories where the characters have to learn the ways of being social and being clueless about everything haha. I’ll have to keep this one in mind!
Great review!! Thanks for the insights.

Interesting review, it sounds like a intriguing book! I will definitely keep an eye out for it!
This sounds like a good sci fi book for me. Plus, love that cover. Not all books in this genre have romance so that is also so good to know. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention.
YAY for a sci fi book!! I’ve been missing this genre lately. Just NOT enough out there. Sounds very promising!
The cover is so pretty. I don’t know if I would pick this one up, but I love how you said it’s deliciously deceiving. I’ll keep my eye out for it.
Ooo, “deliciously deceiving” – add me to the list of people who love that phrase!
Awesome review! You mentioned all my favorite elements of the book too. 🙂
