“Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules.

She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir’s Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir Princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardian to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose- for a crime she didn’t even commit. She’s in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She’ll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose’s life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back… and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your life is about saving others, who will save you??”

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? That this series is the best? This is one series that is not only memorable but that all can enjoy? That it is nothing like Twilight and in fact it is better?

This book left nothing out. It was a great and awesome read and I was sad that it finally came to an end. The book was full of action, drama, characters that are brought to life buy the great writing that Ms. Mead wrote. Everything in it was perfect and enjoyable.

I do have one gripe. That is that I hope that Rose would get a better ending. I was hoping that she would get her happily every after. In a sense she did, but I wanted more for her. Like not having to put her life on the line all of the time. To have some more freedom. I know that Rose is strong and capable. I guess I was just looking for more. Though the ending was satisfying enough, I am now anxiously waiting for the spin-off.

I give it 5 BITES!

Happy Reading!

I’ve only read the 1st book…eek! I need to get on with this series haha. But so many other books to read first though, and usually I can’t decide what to read next.

I love this series:) I get what you’re saying about wanting more for Rose, but maybe we’ll get little snippets of her being happy in the spinoff series:) That would be nice!

This is by far my favorite series. Richelle Mead really blew my mind with here writing. I truly will miss Rose. :’) Just like you said I really wish Rose would have gotten a little more. I just feel like something is missing. But overall I did love it. Can’t wait for Bloodlines<3

I totally agree with you that the end was kind of satisfying. Rose difinately deserved to be free of Lissa. Out of all the characters that I think influenced (or doomed) Rose and Dimitri’s relationships in the first three books, Lissa is the one. I mean, the Strigoi did play a big part when they awakened Dimitri, but it was because of Lissa that Dimitri and Rose weren’t together since they discovered they couldn’t be without the other.
Other than that, Mead’s writing and characters were amazing.
