I love misfits. The ones in the family that no one cares about and then they become something more. Tam is the misfit of the family. She has grown up that she is nothing more than normal and never will be.
I loved Tam and felt for her so badly. I felt her anger, her jealousy, and her wanting to leave away from everyone. Tam is a character that I could relate to right away. From the very first page, I fell in the story. Ms. MacCullough writing had me thinking I really was in the story. Her characters come to life beautifully with her writing and the plot blew me away.
The love interest is good. I am, however a bit confused with it. I was under the impression that Gabe is Tam’s cousin. But I am not sure if they just relate to Gabe as family and call him cousin because they are so close as a real family. If anyone can clear that up for me that be great.
The best part of this book is the plot. Here we have a girl who doesn’t want to be a part of her family because she believes she doesn’t belong. Then she becomes something more and learns more secrets. The secrets is one that I felt on Tam behalf. I would have been furious had I known what she knew. It’s not right. But I was glad that she upheld with great maturity and handled the situation smoothly. I admired Tam and loved the strength she carried with her.
I give it 5 BITES!
Happy Reading!
I have this book on my TBR pile for a really long time.Maybe after your review i should move it up on my priorities….
Great review 🙂
Ohh, I am reading this book right now! I just started yesterday and it’s already sucked me in. I love your review.
I’ve had this one on my wish list for a while. I really must get to it soon. I love that cover too.
That’s a bit weird if the love interest is her cousin. lol! Hope you find out what’s going on there! 🙂
I’ve read a lot of good reviews for this book…yours was fabulous! I definitely need to try this 🙂
Nice review Savy, I’m so glad you liked this one as much as I did! I just adored Tamsin, she was so cute and snarky, and definitely handled her family’s treatment of her way better than I would have. I loved Gabriel too, I hope we get more of him in the next book. I can’t remember how he was related to the family, but I think it was more his mom was a family friend type situation more than actually family. It’s been a while since I read this one so I’m no help:)
Well if you and Jenny liked it, I will have to put it on my TBR pile. It sounds really fun. I love stories with secrets. I also really love the cover.
Great review, definitely sounds like a book I’d enjoy, thank you 🙂
Great Review. I really want to know the secret 🙁 I know, I know…adding it to my wishlist.
I really enjoyed this book too. I love the different take on witches having talents. It made each of them unique.
