“Jake has a problem. He has recently met an attractive girl but he doesn’t realize that another girl has different plans for him. His immediate problem is about to be solved by an exchange of strange text messages with a third young girl he doesn’t know. This will set in motion a chain of events that have a profound impact on his life, the community he lives in, and create a paradox for the rest of his life. By chance, he sees a politician expressing a view on television. In different circumstances he might have forgotten it but it sticks in his mind and he feels compelled to pursue the consequences. He comes to a conclusion that is radical and revolutionary. As events unfold, Jake begins to wonder of some aspects of his future life have already been determined. If the script has already been written, should he play along, and does he have a choice?”
Alright, what I like most about this book is the plot. It was set in the future but made its way to the past.
Jake starts to receive some strange text messages from a girl. She is unaware of what device she is on and Jake began to wonder how in the world they are able to communicate with her. She also helps him with something he has been trying to figure out for a long time.
This book completely remind me of that movie Frequency. The plot is similar and had me hooked. But it is also a type of book that if you don’t pay attention you miss a few things. I love Franzi. Although she played a small role she did an important part playing out the fate in Jake’s life.
Now Jake I loved. I like his snarky attitude. I enjoyed watching him warmed up to K. Seeing him fall for someone who he never saw was fun. I enjoyed watching them grow together as a couple.
My only gripe is the plot and the way it flows. The plot istelf is good, but it held back for me. I felt some parts were missing and other parts needed more clarity on what is happening.
I give it 3 BITES!
Happy Reading!
Hm… don’t think it is a book for me, but loved the review. Wished the plot flowed more for you. Not a fan of the cover either.
I am with Melissa there, I don’t think it is for me either. But great honest review 🙂
