“Find Me.”

These are the words written on Tessa Waye’s diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa’s just been found . . . dead.

Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister Lily is the next target.

Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick. Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick’s deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.

But she’s going to find this killer no matter what.

Because it just got personal.

I love when books have you on your toes. The tickling feeling when you think that something might happen and the author pulls a 180 on you and blows your mind. These are the things I am glad mystery books can bring to the reader and Romily Bernard for brought that with her debut novel Find Me.

We have a bunch of characters that bring something different to the table. We meet Wicket and Lily, sisters who have gone through quite an ordeal with their family and now being placed in foster care things seem to be going well. Carlson, a cop who comes off as a suspicious character in the beginning, Griff, a nice guy with his own secrets, Bren and Todd who seem to be the perfect foster parents but like every perfect family, there is always a crack that gets bigger and bigger as the book comes to an end. Finally we have Tessa, the girl who starts everything.

I am going to focus on Wicket and say that she is a headstrong girl that comes off as being cautious around people, just because of her past. Who wouldn’t with a past like that? I connected with her and by the end, she grows from being a scared girl to a girl with strength, courage, and a fiery heart. She throws herself to protect the people she loves.

The book was always keeping me on my toes. I think the beginning was a little slow but that is common in most all books. However, by the middle there was no slowing down and for a while I was ready to skip class and finish but sadly I could not.

The ending was like WOAH!!!! Okay I might have had a feeling but I was totally betting on another person. Ms. Bernard shocked me. I have to say my heart was racing. I am excited for the next book in the series and Ms. Bernard is an author people definitely need to check out. A thriller that will surely have your heart skip a beat.

I give it 5 bites!

Great review, Savvy I’m glad you liked it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the book I found it was too predictable for my taste but I have read a LOT of similar plotted mysteries so that probably weighed in.

Like Gisele, I guessed the ending (I also read a lot of mysteries) but I really enjoyed this one a lot. I hope there is a second book!
