Wind tunnels, torrential rains and earthquakes tear apart Casden. The cause of the world’s imbalance is unknown, but the mounting occurrences suggest there’s little time before life ceases to exist.

Rydan Gale and Akara Nazreth are the only humans with the ability to wield magic. The tattoo on their necks and the discovery of an ancient book, dictate they are the key to the world’s survival.

But the greatest obstacle for saving mankind isn’t the bizarre creatures, extreme betrayals and magic-fearing men hunting them.

It’s that Akara doesn’t believe the world is worth saving.

I think for me this is one of the best books to use for the example don’t judge a book by its cover. For me the cover was alright it was not eye catching but what made me forget the cover was the amazing story that Ms. Lynn pieced together that presented a magical world that literally captured my heart.

Plot: It was fascinating reading how two different people were the only ones left with the abilities of magic and how differently they were raised. And in one decision would you be considering an enemy. I feel that this story had a life of its own and it pushed the reader further into the story which made this even better for me. I feel that this book is a book that had the right amount of everything and was not missing one single bit and after every page I only wanted more.

Characters: I felt that the characters, even though they both had magical powers, were polar opposites. We are able to see how differently each character was raised and how people viewed them. I felt that most of the time they were not treated as human beings but as monsters because of their abilities and that is what made them become stronger throughout the book. The ending almost killed me and I was ready to send a very upset email to the author concerning one part but I kept reading and thank goodness I did because I would have felt really bad with the email. But seriously Ms. Lynn you had my heart skip a couple beats.

Romance: The reader is able to see sparks fly between the two characters as they are on the run and the feelings that were muffled in the beginning start to show more and more as the story progresses. I hope to see this relationship build further and I wonder how the author is going to incorporate this in her next book. Hint Hint…LOL

Overall this book is a book worth reading and just because the cover didn’t trill me doesn’t mean it won’t for you. I highly recommend this enchanting story to all readers who are willing to take a risk and go on an adventure that will decide the fate of the world. Are you ready?

I give this book 4 bites!

Interesting! I always like it when there is an element of magic or magical abilities in a story.
