Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."

"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....

"I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

Words cannot describe how happy I am to have read this book. Seriously everyone! You all need to stop what you are doing and go pick up this book, like now. After being pushed beyond my limits in the first book I was dared to read this book and this was a dare I was glad I didn’t chicken out of.

Plot: The storyline is told by a different character’s perspective and although hearing mentions of old characters every now and then, this was a brand new story that took off and captured my heart. The book had everything a contemporary book needs. With romance, drama, a little action, the suspense of not knowing what could happen next this book was a roller coaster I would pay big bucks to keep riding.

Characters: We are in the life of both Beth and Ryan. Beth comes from a not so good background but luckily her friends are there to keep her out of trouble. While on the other hand, we have Ryan who is a star pitcher, great looks, but behind all that popularity is something readers will see and emotions will begin to pour out of your veins. These characters I was able to connect with them on every level and I felt like I was standing by them every step of the way. I did wish that we could have more scenes with Mark but the Ryan’s dad and mom need to grow up and stop being controlling parents who think they know what is best but in reality is them being stupid. (Sorry my emotions started to run away from me).  There are other characters in the book like Lacy that I enjoyed because I felt she was like a rope that held things together sometimes.

Romance: As they say opposites attract. And in this book boy they sure do. But in every book that there is romance, drama is on its heels ready to strike. I swear I  wish Beth just went up to Gwen and slapped her a couple times and then maybe just maybe would she get the point to stay away from Ryan, seriously girl he doesn’t want you ever. With all the cute couples and romance in the book we also saw crumbling relationships and I am sorry to say this to Ryan but his parents seriously need to get a divorce or a wakeup call pronto.

Dreams: I hope that maybe just maybe (throwing out an idea) that Ms. McGarry will take the time to write a story from Mark’s perspective. I know it might not happen but I wish that maybe we can see what is going on through his mind and everything since he got…(sorry don’t want to spoil it for you)

End: The ending was just amazing and I am seriously cannot wait till we have the next book in the series. Katie McGarry is a writer who writes with such epicness and her words draw you in at every turn. Dare You To is definitely the contemporary of the year and yes…I dare you to read this book!

I give this book 5 bites!

I really need to get back to this book. At 22% I still wasn’t really into it so I had to put it aside. It took me 2 days to even get that far. I loved PtL so I was really hoping to fall in love with this one too. I will come back to it soon hopefully.

Oh yeah, I wished some violence on Gwen as well Chayse! She needed to get it through her head that Ryan didn’t belong to her. Grrrr. She made me mad, but it was one of those elements that reminded me how involved in this story I was and I just loved everything about it! So glad you were such a big fan as well:)

  5. LOL! Poor slaptastic Gwen! I had to laugh at that.

I enjoyed this book so much as well. Didn’t love Ryan until the second half, but he did win me over! Need the next book in this series now! 😀

Congrats on getting the title right, which is better than I did! :-O I really like your idea of Mark getting his own book. I would definitely read that!
