BEWARE THE GODS AND THEIR HORRORS. Owen and Lilly have escaped Camp Eden, but the next step on their journey to find Atlantis and protect it from Paul and Project Elysium involves crossing the perilous wastelands of a wrecked planet. And unlike in EdenWest, where bloody truths were kept hidden beneath the surface, out here the horrors live bright beneath the poisonous sun.
With treachery at every turn, Owen has no choice but to bring his wounded clan to the dark shores of Desenna, a city built from the ashes of EdenSouth. Desenna's blood-soaked walls may hold the key to Owen's journey in the form of the third Atlantean as well as a deeper understanding of the true purpose of the Three, but there are also secrets lurking in the shadows, waiting to be unleashed, and once they rise, there may be no escape.
Filled with action, mind-bending twists, and powerful scenes of emotional and physical sacrifice, THE DARK SHORE takes readers on a journey to a question so great, even the gods have trouble answering it: What would you be willing to do, to save humanity from itself?

After reading the first book and being pulled into an unexplored world, I just had to read the sequel. And if you ask me, this book was ever better!

1. Plot. The plot moves fast taking the reader into a whole new world. I really like how each chapter weaved into the next, pulling the reader deeper into action, lies, betrayals and of course lots of amazing plot twists and turns.

2. History. With the history collapsing of both Mayan and Altantian cultures, I adored how well this too weaves with the story. I like how the author made each detail relate to the story and characters. I was able to grab history without feeling confused or lost.

3. Love. Their is trouble in paradise and it makes the read much more interesting. I didn’t expect it to play out the way it did, still watching the characters grow up and learn about their choices really makes the book more realistic.

4. Powers. I thought it was super cool to see powers come into play. Each power plays a role in the history of these people. And of course they had once power come into play late, which I might add only amps up the story even more. Watching and learning all of it made my heart race.

5.End. OMG! The ending left my head spinning and wanting more. Indeed, the ending just laid everything on the reader. From power to lies to realization of what was happening behind the scenes. So yes, I definitely need to the next book ASAP!

A fun, satisfactory tale of mythology and modern science, Dark Shore is an thrilling sequel that makes you want more. Mr. Emerson continues to wow his reader’s with his great imagination and world building.  Beaming with excellence, Dark Shore is an success.

I give it 5 BITES!

is the end a cliffhanger? Or does it just have a surprising revelation/twist? I haven’t read the first book in this series, but it sounds like it might not be a bad idea to wait until all the books are out before I jump in! Thanks for your thoughts Savy!

I didn’t really love the first of this novel but I like that the characters seem to grow and so does the realism of the whole story.
