“Braden was born with witch eyes: the ability to see the world as it truly is: a blinding explosion of memories, darkness, and magic. The power enables Braden to see through spells and lies, but at the cost of horrible pain. After a terrifying vision reveals imminent danger for the uncle who raised and instructed him, Braden retreats to Belle Dam, an old city divided by two feuding witch dynasties. As rival family heads Catherine Lansing and Jason Thorpe desperately try to use Braden’s powers to unlock Belle Dam’s secrets, Braden vows never to become their sacrificial pawn. But everything changes when Braden learns that Jason is his father–and Trey, the enigmatic guy he’s falling for, is Catherine’s son.
To stop an insidious dark magic from consuming the town, Braden must master his gift—and risk losing the one he loves.“
Thesetting of the story in Belle Dam really gave the book a much more intensifying read. I loved how well Mr. Tracey brought the town and its history back round to life. I also liked how Ms. Tracey didn’t overwhelm the reader with too much information. Everything is given to the reader bit by bit and leaves the reader following the story much more closely. The rival of the families, the fighting really got my heart racing. The love interest was not my style, though others may enjoy it better than me.
Overall, I really loved and adored Mr. Tracey well written book. He is able to bring to life his characters, his settings, as well as bringing the reader into the story, falling swiftly in Braden’s shoes. The magic that flowed from the book, enchanted the reader from the very first line.

I give it 4 BITES!
Happy Reading!
The cover of this book freaks me out, but the story sounds so good, and like you, I’m a huge fan of secrets:) Really nice review Savy, I’m looking forward to this one!
Oh this sounds like a good one. I have been considering this one and I think I’m going to add it to my wishlist now. I’m with Jenny too… the cover is creepy, but I like it! 🙂
Just bought this book and am so so so excited to read it. I think this was my Most Awaited release of the year and can’t wait to start reading it. Gotta say, beyond the awesome plot line and setting, the relationship between the male MC and male love interest is one of the things most attracting me to the book–I’m eager to see how Tracey handles a teen homosexual relationship as the main romance of a YA, rather than being relegated to secondary characters.
Glad to hear your liked the book!
Smiles!
