But being part of Delcroix’s top secret Program isn’t anything like Dancia expected. She has to ask herself: what happens to the Talented kids who refuse to pledge their loyalty to the Program? And why did her friend Jack run away rather than join? Dancia’s adorable boyfriend Cam insists they need the help of every Talented student to defend Delcroix from dangerous enemies outside their gates. But Dancia has to wonder: what if Delcroix’s most frightening enemies come from within?”
I love this series. Since the first book, it has left me nothing but wanting to read more into the series and into the characters. Ms. Scott created such a unique world that it totally blew me away!
The plot line of this book is what left me hanging with my mouth wide open. There were many unexpected surprises and some major changes! I was not expecting them and it took my heart. I love that Ms. Scott kept the reader on their toes never letting up on the action.
I love the mysterious of the book and the notion that the enemy is close than what they think. Every piece of information kept the reader entertain and well fed. My eyes kept scanning the pages faster and faster just wanting more.  I think Ms. Scott did a great job in writing the sequel. Sometimes the sequel don’t live up to the hype but this one did. Let me tell you it did!
The love interest in more complicated as ever but sooooo good! I mean, the things that Danica went through, she really had to make some decisions. The decisions weren’t easy but I have a feeling it will all change again in the next book.
The Marked is a great book! So much action, drama, excitement in reading the book that you too are fighting. The tides are turning quickly and Danica must make her choice. What choice will she make next? I can’t wait for the next book!
I give it 4 BITES!
Happy Reading!

  1. I haven’t read the first book yet, although your review has reminded me that I should get to it soon as I have a copy! Really like the sound of it. So annoying when they change the covers after the first book though!

I was all confused by the cover for this one for a second, I was expecting it to look more like the other one and thought I had the wrong series:) I enjoyed the first book, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the romance aspect progresses in this installment!

I liked the first book in the series, The Candidates, and especially that cover. I was hoping the cover of the Marked would complement the cover of The Candidates but oh well. Still looking forward to reading it. Great review, BTW.

Yeah, I’m with Jenny. It took me a while to realize what series this is since the covers are so different. Glad to know the storyline is still going strong with unexpected surprises.

  6. Oh I love the cover. Love those colors!!

I still need to read the first in this series. Looks like I’ll be picking up the second as well.
