“Constance started to keen as the air around us began to thrash and twist, the caustic scent of ozone burning my nose. As I watched, her dark gold hair began to lift and kink into knots.

“I’m here. It’ll be okay.” It was the last thing I said before my best friend’s little sister went supernova in the second-floor girls’ bathroom, taking me with her.

A month ago, Mo Fitzgerald risked her life to stop an ancient prophecy and avenge her best friend’s murder. Now, she only wants to keep her loved ones safe. But the magic—and the Chicago Mob—have other plans.

Mysterious, green-eyed Luc is back, asking for help—and a second chance. Colin, her strongest protector, is hiding a shocking secret. And inside Constance, the magic is about to go terribly wrong. Tangled in a web of love and betrayal, Mo must choose between the life she’s dreamed of and the one she’s destined for.”

Another fantastic series that picks up with a start. Poor Mo. She is being passed around, lied too, manipulated, by all the people who are supposedly “looking out for her.” I don’t think I have shook my head so much as I read this book. But YAY, for a strong heroine.

The plot of this book is filled with many twist and turn. Mo is dealing with the after affects of what happen in the first book as well as dealing with more family problems. I really like that in this book, the reader gets to see more of Mo’s life. We learn more of her family and her past.

The love interest in this book gets a bit more complicated. With those guys fighbting for her ruthlessly, I loved how well she can see. She saw past both of their past and dealt with what she knew. I like that she was frighten but strengthen them. Even with the hard times that she deals with her own personal life, she never lets it get her down. She did what she needed to do for others and put everything aside for them.

My only grudge about this book is the poor misuse of Mo. She got tossed around like a rag doll. Like strong women, her trials made her stronger. I admired her will and ability to keep going no matter what.

Overall, this is good book. The plot is filled with drama, boy drama, family drama and much more skeletons coming out of the closet. I look forward to seeing how this book is going to end.

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!
