“The three main worries on sixteen-year-old Brianna Mingan’s mind are whether her alcoholic father will get up in time for work, how much her new boyfriend Connor Landon likes her, and whether a small mishap at Connor’s house has infected her with lycanthropy.
Brianna wouldn’t mind becoming a werewolf-if it weren’t for the fact that Connor’s parents are expert werewolf hunters. Facial hair and super strength? Totally cool. Death by silver bullet? Not so much.
To save Brianna’s life, she and Connor seek the help of Connor’s older brother, Evan, a medical researcher who rejected his family’s hunting way of life. Despite Evan’s suspiciously large store of knowledge about lycanthropy, he isn’t able to prevent Brianna from being abducted by two rogue wolfmen looking for a female addition to their pack. Neither Brianna nor Connor is sure whether the greatest danger comes from the wolfish kidnappers or Mr. and Mrs. Landon, werewolf assassins.”

I thought this was a really cute book on werewolf prejudice. It’s your average werewolf story but with a family twist.

What I like most was the family dynamic about it. For generations this family has hunted down werewolf with the belief that once you become a werewolf you lose all of your self. Little did they know that a family member was infected with werewolf blood and is living as a werewolf now. I like how the family was shocked. At this little piece of information really made the book even better. You saw the family, mostly the parents just in shocked an scared. They had no idea how to react or do. It was pretty funny.

The storyline I think could have been better. It wasn’t what I expected. I would have wanted a lot more family info on the werewolf hunting and how one of the brother came infected and was living as a werewolf. I though with the way Brianna was infected was a little on the down side. I wanted more umph.

The love interest on the other hand was fast. They fell for each other and pretty much made each other complete. I like how Connor stuck by Brianna side and help her out. For a moment there, I thought there would be drama since Evan was a little, um…..flirty with her.

In the end, the family over came their prejudice and decided to try something out new. I like that as a family that they worked together and not bring each other down. I really enjoyed seeing them change their was and accept the brother as a werewolf. Great book!

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

I’m not going to lie, her ears on the cover freak me a out a little bit. They’re so pointy:) I haven’t heard of this one before, but I really like the family aspect of it, sometimes there’s nothing more interesting to read about than family dynamics. Add in a werewolf twist and it sounds like a fun read!

  4. First… LOVE the cover and title… makes me laugh! Aw and too bad that some of it just didn’t quite work, but I agree I would love the family angle. How they worked together to get over their prejudice. Looks like a win! 😉
