“Jonah Leighton never expected to have a close friend, especially one he met at his school, where he’s usually either picked on or ignored. A few weeks after meeting Shanna Bailey, he’s realized that she’s a kindred spirit. Intelligent, funny, and interested in the things he can teach her, Shanna is the first person with whom Jonah’s ever been comfortable sharing his knowledge.

However, Shanna’s frequent injuries cast a pall over their friendship. Jonah suspects that Shanna’s mother abuses her, but without proof, he can’t do anything. And his concerns about Shanna take a back seat when he becomes aware of a threat to our universe: An entity from another reality wants to cross over into ours, and the resulting energetic backwash will vaporize our world.”

Everyone has something they are hiding. Hiding something more hurtful then you can ever imagine. So how can you heal someone else, when you are hurt yourself? Jonah is faced again with a problem with another student. But he needs help. And the only person who can help is Shanna. But she is carrying a secret, such a deep secret, she can’t help no one until someone helps her.

What I loved most about this book was the friendship bond between Shanna and Jonah. I love his protectiveness of her and the way he approach the situation. He didn’t pressure her or force her, he simply guided her and was there for here when she needed him. Shanna was so caught up in her secret, that she failed the notice that people were there for her if she ever needed anything. It was sad what she went through, but I was happy that she had great friends.

The paranormal touch was one I had not seen. The book was very interesting with the whole metaphysical, body energy, body healing stuff. It certainly caught my attention and was glad to read something different.
The book was well written and was an easy read.

I give it 4 BITES!

Happy Reading!

This sounds okay, but the cover just keeps pushing me away. It looks like a home-made cover. :/

I’ll have to check it out still though since it got four bites. 🙂

I have to say based on the title, I probably would have glossed right by this one, something about a filtration system doesn’t jump off the shelf for me:) I do love the sound of the Shanna and Jonah relationship and the premise sounds really different, so thanks for this review Savy!

The title doesn’t seem to imply a great story, but I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! I probably wouldn’t have read it if I didn’t see this review. Great review, Savy 🙂
