“How do you defy destiny?
Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it’s getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she’s haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they’re destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.
As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.”
WOOHOO! I simply adored this book. Not only was it addicting, but it had non-stop action! Starcrossed is one of those book that has you addicted even before you get more into the story. It’s like, your mind just knows that this book is going to be good. So you keep reading until you hit the last page. And then be upset and mad cause your adventure is now over and you must wait!
The plot in this book is mind blowing. Let me the first to tell you sometimes fate sucks. In this book, fate just does not let them be. Lucas and Helen from the start are fighting against fate. I admit that I liked them fighting. It gave you more tension between the characters. You felt their love grown with each growing frustration.
The characters were a whole another set of story. Each characters had such a unique identity. They all had their flaws. I like how each of them played a role in Lucas and Helen’s life’s. They all stuck by each other as a family and did what they thought was best. Now some may think that some decisions were wrong, and I thought so too. But in the end, I knew they did it out of the kindness of their own heart. They were only looking out for each other.
The modern day use of Greek mythology totally rocked. I have seen books pop up everywhere with this plot line and I adore every single one. Ms. Angelini took Greek mythology and added a great new twist to the story. She kept the power of the Gods and Goddesses, just added a great heart-breaking love story and lots of action. Ms. Angelini created a amazing world that any reader can dive into. I can’t wait to read the next book!
I give it 5 BITES!

About the author:

Website Twitter Facebook HarperTeen Kismetbt

Josie was born in a tiny town in Massachusetts called Ashland. When she meets people from Massachusetts and tells them ‘what part’ she hails from, she usually gets one of two answers. The first is: “Ashland. Isn’t that in Oregon?” And the second is: “Did you just say Ass-land?”
Her next stop was about as different from her hometown as it gets without leaving the country. As soon as Josie was legal, she packed a bag and moved to New York City to attend NYU. Somehow, she managed to squeeze in a little higher learning between bar tending shifts and graduated with a BFA.
Massively in debt with college loans, she then moved to Los Angeles for reasons that are still a little blurry. Something about the weather was mentioned, and a vague idea to write poetry and find herself. She found that she is a terrible poet, but she never gave up on the writing bit.
