Book Talk: Being okay with not posting every single day.

Jul 21
2014

I get it. I do. You just started or have already been at this for a while so you read and post. Every. Single Day. I’m here to tell you, you don’t have to do that. Believe when I say I know. I know the struggle of wanting to get certain ARC’s or a publisher to notice you. I know the anxiety to want to be in a certain “blogging click” and so forth. Honestly, I have been blogging for 4 years now. This year I have decided to take a different approach when it comes to my blogging schedule. That is to have NONE. That’s right. I have no blogging schedule. Before when I first started blogging I had a pocket calendar which I carried around with me everywhere. Every time I got a new book, I always added it to my calendar for review. I...

Book Talk: Bookish Sites

Book Talk: Bookish Sites
Apr 16
2014

Hello lovely readers! Today I want to talk about Bookish sites. There are so many out there. Here are a few that I stick to and really love. Site:  Literally http://www.literally.io/ Tag Line: Literally, the best app for readers. Why I use it: I heard about this site and it immediately peaked my interest. One thing that caught my attention is…no reviews. Yes, that’s right. There are no reviews. I like that. Sometimes when I’m on Good Reads my feed is slammed with reviews, which is sometimes okay. But sometimes (okay most of the time) I rather not see the reviews. Some are spoilery and others are just well…yeah. I like that when you log on to Literally there is no feed. You can organize the shelf the way you want it. You can review a book...

Book Talk: Tips For Getting Over The Reading Slump

Book Talk: Tips For Getting Over The Reading Slump
Apr 10
2014

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day. If you have not noticed (maybe not on my blog but definitely my good reads page) you know that I used to read a book a day. And now I’m not. The reason? Blogging/reading slump. I have it. It scared me at first because I wanted to read but could not. It simply did not interested me anymore. (GASP!) Here are some tips on getting over this hurdle: 1. Don’t force it. Believe me, I wanted too. I forced myself to picked up a book and read. “SAVANNAH! READ THE BOOK.” No matter how many times my eyes dashed across the pages, I couldn’t become interested. Every book I picked up was boring and done. So I decided to step back and let it takes its course. 2. Relax The more my slumped went on,...

Book Talk: Are the lines between New Adult/Adult starting to blur???
Jan 24
2014

Hey everyone! And welcome to another edition of Book Talk. *I want to state this is a discussion. It is a open question to talk about.  I have always loved reading NA and a big promoter of it. It’s a book topic I have been wanting to talk about for a long time. That is all. Please do not take any of this the wrong way.* (Although I have a feeling someone will). About a week ago, I got this comment on my blog: “The lines between adult and new adult is starting to blur. I would have sworn every single one of these titles/covers correspond to an adult book.”   About 3 years ago, the New Adult genre has started to gain popularity and has continued to grow ever since. First off, what exactly is New Adult? What I gather amongst the internet is that...

Book Talk: How much money do you spend on books?

Book Talk: How much money do you spend on books?
Jan 2
2014

Okay, let’s be honest. How much money do you spend on books? In a week, in a month or in a year. How much is it, for real? Not a guess or a round-about number but a REAL solid number. This year, I want to calculate how much money I spend on books. It’s a scary thought. Because honestly, I don’t really know but I have a feeling my number is HIGH. I buy books everywhere I go. I buy books at Target, Walmart, Kmart and my local indie book store, Paragraph Books. I buy them online at Book Depo, Amazon, B&N and Book Outlet. I even buy books at the grocery store. Yup, you heard me. I buy them at HEB. I buy books everywhere and anytime I’m at the store. And I never really stop to think how much money I REALLY spend on my hobby. I will be...
