So everyone, this is my LAST and FINAL update. I will be having a scheduled C-section on May 29, if I don’t go into labor on my own.

Here I am at 38 weeks pregnant:

According the Babycenter, here is what happening during my 38th week of pregnancy:

Week 38:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she is over 19 1/2 inches long (about the size of a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

How am I feeling?

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

1. It’s time. In just a few days I will be a mommy again. YAY! I can’t believe how its gone by so quickly. At times, it did feel like time it going by slowly, but she is finally going to be here. In my arms…in my life…

2.  Scared. I have to admit that going into my second c-section because of medical issues, I have no other choice. But I’m praying and hoping that everything will go well and that my recovery will be quick.

3. Family. I’m so incredibly blessed to have a family who is willing to jump in and help. We have child care arranged for our son and my mom to help with the new baby. I’m willing to take all the help I can get. I know that the first few weeks will definitely be a change.

So that’s it. Please note that I will most likely not get online. I will have a newborn/recovery from c-section that I will be on a blogging hiatus. Chayse is going to be moving soon as well, so the blog will be down. If everything goes smoothly, I will get on a schedule, but I don’t want to push it either.  We do have a few scheduled posts to go up, but that’s it.

Before I leave, I just want to take some time in advance and thank everyone for your well wishes. I promise I’m not ignoring you on social media, just most likely tired/drained/ new baby, etc. You know how it goes.

So thank you to everyone who followed me on this journey. I hope to get back on soon.

Best,

Savy
