Bump update: She’s HERE!

Jun •  19 •  2015

Hey everyone! Guess what? My precious little girl is here!!!

Here is my birth story:

On Monday the 18th, I had noticed that her movements were beginning to decrease. I let my doctor know and he scheduled a NST to monitor the movements of the baby.  A NST is a Fetal Non-Stress test  a simple, non-invasive test performed in pregnancies over 28 weeks gestation.   It is used to monitor the movement, heart rate and “reactivity” of heart rate to movement is measured for 20-30 minutes.

She moved, but not as much as he liked. So he had me come back that following Friday for another NST. Friday her movements were once again, too little. He ask that I go to the hospital on Saturday to get tested again. So Saturday morning was a typical morning. I got up, made breakfast and got ready to head out to the hospital. I was not prepared to have her that day. In fact, I only brought my hospital bag just incase.

Once I arrived they immediately took me to labor and delivery were they put me on another NST. I laid there for about an hour and begin to feel pain. I thought at first I might have eaten too much breakfast or that I was nervous cause my stomach was hurting bad. But I ignored the pain thinking that it was nothing. After a while, the doctor came and check on my results and guess what? I WAS IN LABOR! I was having contractions hence why my stomach was hurting. I was also dilated  3-4 centimeters. Because I was a high-risk pregnancy, he did not want me to go into labor fully. S0 he ordered the c-section.

Right away I was prepped. My husband and a nurse help me moved to another bed (the bed they were wheeling me out to for surgery) and then I really felt pain. Once I sat up it was like she was about to fall out. I screamed. My daughter had decided to drop into my pelvis! My husband immediately stopped moving me but oh man, it was painful. They eventually got me on the bed and into surgery, but not without me screaming and whispering under my breath.

The surgery went okay and just one minor issue. My daughter was breeched and since I was dilated, her feet/legs were stuck in my pelvis. The doctors had a hard time getting her out because she was so low. After a few pulls, they got her out. The first thing my husband said is,”SHE HAS HAIR!” My one worry is that since I had no heartburn that she be bald like her daddy was when he was a baby. But nope. She had a full head of hair!

Aydah was born on May 23rd via c-section.

We are so incredibly blessed to have her in our lives. These past fews weeks have been crazy. I’m learning to adjust to having two kids. And my oldest, is doing great. He loves his baby sister and loves being a helper.

Thank you for all your well wishes and congratulations.

I skipped past all your reviews for the baby news and …. YAY!! Your beautiful daughter is here. Sounds like the delivery was stressful so I’m happy that that’s all behind you. (My daughter had a lot of hair too when she was born, which surprised me, because my first was kind of a baldy…)
HUGE congratulations to you, your husband and your son 🙂
